A good yoga teacher can do great work in their communities

I often say yoga is a real life skill.  This is because, correctly taught in all its aspects, your weekly yoga class should bring –

  • strength and flexibility to the body

  • help to develop good breathing

  • give experience of, and teach, methods for mind and body relaxation

  • give guidance for settling the chitta/mind stuff in order to achieve mental quietness and a sense of inner peace. To conserve the body’s energy through stillness and meditation is a true gift for our overall health and wellbeing.

  • plus looking at aspects of yoga philosophy through the Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita gives pointers to our awareness of learning to live proactively and not reactively.  This is a very interesting and useful understanding to have in life and develops through reading, study and application.
